A Quick Mascara Review
As a new Mom, I don’t always have time to do a full face of make-up let alone any make-up at all. I actually prefer to have a fresh face as often as possible and let me skin breathe. But when I am out and about during the week, I like to keep it simple. Mascara is the key to pulling off a fresh day-time look, in my opinion. So over the last few months I have been on the search for the perfect mascara. The following three are my current top contenders.
1. Cover Girl LashBlast Length Mascara – Their claim “Our new Elasta-Nylon™ formula flexes without flaking, giving you extreme, notice-me lashes all day long. Our longest brush ever gives you up to 80% longer looking lashes*.” My thoughts are this.....I love this mascara! The brush is one of the best I have found. It is precise, does not clump, easy to work with on the lower lashes, and just gives an overall feathering of the lashes. My one and only complaint is that it is not quite as dramatic as I would personally like it to be. But defiantly a solid A.
2. Cover Girl LashBlast Fusion – Their claim “Experience COVERGIRL's first ever volume + length mascara! The fiberstretch formula and oversized brush make every little lash bigger, fuller, longer -looking and more dramatic.*” I decided to give this mascara a try when I was searching for just a bit more out of the LashBlast Length. I really thought this new formula would be the answer. Sadly, the brush ruined it for me. Maybe it really is all in the brush??? I found it clumped my lashes together, instead of feathering them out beautifully. It was more dramatic than the other CG mascara, but I found I was still using the LashBlast Length brush to go back over my lashes and to do my lower ones. So this mascara gets a B-.
3. MAC Haute & Naughty Lash – Their claim “A two-in-one mascara that lets you choose if you want lashes to be naturally defined, or instantly combed and loaded for full-on drama. Easy to use dual-wiper system allows this lightweight formula to go on either way. One wiper refines the application for a clean sweep, while the other loads the lashes for greater impact.”
I sought out MAC because that is where I buy majority of my make-up from and I have used the Fibre Riche mascara in the past. But I was looking for something new this time. I talked to the sales girl and told her I was looking for an ever day mascara. I told her my requirements. I was going to try their new Falsies mascara but she was very passionate about the Haute & Naughty. I was sold, she had delivered a good pitch, and it looked like everything I was after. I’ve had this mascara for a couple weeks now and I am pretty satisfied, but it is not perfect. I do find it clumps my lashes a bit too close together. But it has the perfect day time look with the dual brush system and can be more dramatic for night too. A B+ for sure.
So my search still continues for the absolute, perfect mascara. Next up Voluminous® Million Lashes™ by L’Oreal. The brush looks promising. Keep you all posted!!
